Meeting topic and speaker:
Stephanie Croteau is a North Star member and a Worldloppet Master x2. In this presentation, she will describe her world nordic travels: Worldloppet races, Finland Border to Border, and Norwayu Troll loypa. As an organizer of international cross country ski trips, she will share some tips about how to plan group trips and some of the challenges involved. We’ll hike around 5 miles before lunch with an option to hike another couple miles after lunch.
Location is on Flying Cloud Drive across from the Minnesota River in Eden Prairie
This is a prairie bluff park {views of MN River valley} with plenty of hills and some creek-side trails. Intermediate-level terrain, with hiking poles suggested.
We will walk along the Mississippi River through Riverplace, Boom Island and Nicollet Island, stop to eat our bag picnic lunches, and then walk back to Riverplace to see a movie at The Main Cinema.

Interstate State Park, by the Visitor Center
We will hike about 4 miles on a loop covering most of the Walter F. Mondale River Trail, Sandstone Bluffs Trail, and Railroad Trail. Then for about a half hour we will explore the Glacial Potholes Area, including the Bottomless Pit and breathtaking lookouts over the St. Croix.
