Do you have an old bike gathering dust in your garage or basement? It could be a kid&#39;s bike or an adult&#39;s bike.<br /><br />Allina Health knows healthy habits start early, including being active. If your child has outgrown their bike, or you no longer use an adult bike, let another child grow into it. Allina Health is partnering with Free Bikes 4 Kidz MN to give bikes to kids in need. Donate gently used or new child or adult bikes Saturday, Oct. 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at most Allina Health hospitals and clinics.<br /><br />North Stars are active, and we like to encourage kids to be active, so this is a great opportunity!<br /><br />I volunteered about 10 shifts this past spring as a bike mechanic for Free Bikes 4 Kidz, refurbishing used bikes, and it was very rewarding to see the thousands of bikes going out the door to new owners.<br /><br />Take a photo of yourself donating a bike Saturday and we&#39;ll add it to the North Star Ski Club promotional slide show to show another way we&#39;re helping the community.<br /><br />Here&#39;s the website with more details, including bike collection sites:<br />https://www.allinahealth.org/about-us/community-involvement/initiatives-and-programs/allina-health-and-free-bikes-4-kidz<br /><br />Craig Wiklund<br />Publicity Director<br />North Star Ski Touring Club
