June 3, Wed {WW} Hike Ely’s Peak. Meet at 8:30 am at the south end of the Home Depot parking lot located at 4550 Pheasant Ridge Drive, We will leave at 8:45 am to carpool from there to the Superior Hiking Trail Parking Area for Ely’s Peak,. The drive takes about 2 hours. Please let the trip leader know if you are willing to be a driver! We will hike to the top of Ely’s Peak -- the closest thing to a mountain as you can get in Minnesota! If you’ve never been there before, it has amazing views from the top. Don’t miss out on this little known gem!  It is connected to the Superior Hiking Trail and the hike is about 4-5 miles. Bring a bag lunch to eat at the top of the peak! Wear hiking boots if you have them, or tennis shoes will work. If people are interested, there is also the option after the hike to have dinner at Mexico Lindo located in the historic Fitger’s complex, known for its authentic dishes, generous portions, and scenic views of lake superior from its patio. HOPE TO SEE YOU ON ONE OF THE BEST TRAILS IN THE STATE!
