Trail Clearing at Camp DuNord


Sept. 29-Oct. 2, Thur-Sun {AK} Trail Clearing at Camp DuNord.  We have room for 8 more participants on this trip as of Sept 7.

Anyone up for a  FREE weekend in the North Woods? Help prepare the North Arm trails near Ely, MN for skiing this winter.  The trails have been developed and maintained by the North Stars for many years.  These are single-track trails through the woods into the BWCAW, so they are not machine-groomed.  Join us as we hike into the Boundary Waters to clear these trails with hand tools provided by the US Forest Service.  We work all day Friday and Saturday and have the option to hike or paddle on Sunday morning. For those who can't arrive until Friday night, you work on Saturday and Sunday morning.  Gas reimbursement per club policy for those who carpool. Food and lodging are provided. Limit of 20 people, so sign up early. Send your signed reservation and waiver form with a check for $25/person (payable to Arne Stefferud) to Arne at 1780 Frank Street, Maplewood, MN 55109. The checks will be returned when you arrive at camp.  Because we are sharing rooms and meals, everyone on the trip must be fully vaccinated for Covid 19.
