Ski at Kathio State Park
Feb 7-9, Fri-Sun {AK} Ski Kathio State Park.
Join us at Kathio State Park for a fun family weekend and a beautiful candlelight ski under a full moon! Kathio State Park, only an hour-and-a-half drive from the cities, is a perfect weekend getaway offering skiing at all levels, ski rentals, snowshoeing, a warm chalet, and a nature center. For the young-at-heart there’s a super sliding hill, too. After the beautiful candlelight ski on Saturday night stay for bluegrass music, hot cider and cookies. Lodging at Camp Onomia is cozy and comfortable. If there is enough interest we might visit the Mille Lacs Ojibwe Indian Museum. Another option is geocaching with GPS units at the park. As always, bring a good book and/or your knitting! This year we will also offer some special inside fun activities for kids at the camp. The cost, which includes Friday and Saturday night lodging and four meals, is $132 per adult, $115 for youths ages 4-17, and kids under the age of 4 go free. $20/night extra if a single room is desired. Send trip waiver and deposit of $50/person or $100/family (check payable to the leaders) to Ron Brand and Gail Lundeen Brand, 2132 Sargent Avenue, Saint Paul, MN 55105. FFI: Ron or Gail, 651-278-5195 or 651-698-1804. This is a joint NSSTC/Minnesota Youth Ski League trip.
