Hike At Pond-Dakota Mission Park

Pond-Dakota Mission Park is a little-known piece of MN history overlooking the MN Valley National Wildlife Refuge. Harold Hamilton, a longtime North Star, lives right across the street from the park and has invited us to join him for hiking followed by lunch on his deck. Meet at Harold's house,10348 Clinton Ave S, Bloomington, MN 55420 (with lots of street parking) at 9:45 a.m. to start hiking at 10:00. Inez and Harold will lead a short, easy hike to visit the overlook and historical plaques. Dana and Ann Rhea will lead a longer hike down into the trail system.

Wear good, sturdy trail shoes or hiking boots for this one as there are a lot of ups and downs on narrow, dirt (sometimes rocky) paths. This is a great hike to get ready for the ski season! We will hike for about two hours, approximately four miles, and meet the rest of the group at Harold's for lunch.

Bring your bag lunch and a water bottle!
